PORT DICKSON, 17 April 2023 – UCSI Hospital, a private medical care provider, has entered into a new partnership with three (3) Negeri Sembilan-based esteemed NGOs - namely ROTARY Club Seremban Gateway, Malaysia Hindu Sangam Negeri Sembilan and Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia.

The MoU signing parties wish to establish and maintain a basis of cooperation in the healthcare industry by partaking in new business opportunities through exchanging of ideas and collaboration.

The memorandums of understanding were signed by Dato’ Peter Ng, UCSI Group, Founder and Executive Chairman; Dato’ Kanagarajah Raman, Vice President of Rotary Club Seremban Gateway, Dr A. Gopi Sivachariar, Chairman of Malaysia Hindu Sangam Negeri Sembilan State Council and Mr Timothy Teo Kiam Hon, Chairman of Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (PUMM) Negeri Sembilan State Liaison.

“We at Rotary Club of Seremban Gateway, a social and welfare-orientated club is extremely honoured to be associated with UCSI Hospital at Springhill for its sophisticated and latest technology-driven medical facility and services. Being in our own vicinity we are confident to work together in all aspects of medical collaboration such as in the areas of Medical Tourism and local Medical Treatment. Today’s MoU will strengthen and benefit both parties’ interests”, Dato’ Kanagarajah said.

Dr A. Gopi Sivachariar said Malaysia Hindu Sangam (MHS) is the apex body of Hinduism in Malaysia. “We represent the State of Negeri Sembilan which has over 7,000 members in 12 Local Councils. We are represented in every district or town with a high Indian population. There are over 180 temples registered with us with thousands of devotees at large. Despite the fact that most of our members fall into the B40 category there are a large number of M40 members who have purchased medical insurance cards, or a combination of B40 and M40 having the group medical insurance coverages from their employers. MHS looks forward to this collaboration with organisations such as UCSI Hospital hoping that this corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme shall benefit and create value for our members at large. It is hoped that through this partnership both organisations can mutually benefit from that “win-win equitation”. We believe MHS could play a vital and proactive role in referring clients to UCSI Hospital. We look forward towards a cordial relationship,” Dr Gopi said.

Meanwhile, Mr Timothy Teo Kiam Hon explained that as a representative of PUMM, he is honored to acknowledge the unwavering support and commitment of UCSI Hospital in recognising the contributions and well-being of PUMM members.

“The offer of this benefit plan is a testament to the hospital's dedication to promoting the health and welfare of the business community and for that, we are truly grateful for this partnership,”

“Through this collaboration, we strongly believe that UCSI Hospital is able to provide our members with access to top-notch healthcare services, including medical consultations, treatments, and other healthcare facilities at preferential rates. This not only demonstrates the hospital's commitment to delivering quality healthcare but also showcases its understanding of the needs and requirements of our members,” Mr Timothy emphasised.

“On behalf of PUMM, I would like to extend our sincere appreciation to UCSI Hospital for their generosity and support. This benefit plan will undoubtedly go a long way in safeguarding the health and well-being of our members, and we are truly grateful for this partnership,” he added.

Dato’ Peter Ng stated that UCSI is proud to see the Hospital continues to make history. UCSI is the first hospital in Negeri Sembilan to open a Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit. Launched in 2022, the Hospital houses a cardiac diagnostic clinic, a catheterisation laboratory, a fully-equipped operating theatre, and an intensive care unit.

This setup enables the Hospital to conduct complex open-heart surgeries, providing a game-changing outlet for patients who require urgent medical intervention.

“UCSI Hospital has come far and we want to continue giving back to society. We want to give a new lease of life to patients who suffer from chronic illnesses. It is our great hope that today’s MoU will cement the Hospital’s reputation as a healthcare institution of choice for the people of Negeri Sembilan and beyond,” said Dato Peter.
